Paolo, Mosè e l'Alleanza non revocata in 2 Cor 3,1-4,6
La pericope di 2 Cor 3,1-4,6 appartiene a uno scritto denso e problematico. Nel quadro più ampio del confronto con gli “oppositori”, il testo esaminato dimostra la fedeltà di Paolo alle sue radici, che sono fondate nell'Israele della promessa e della berît stabilita per sempre, “nuova” perché rinnovata e alla quale è stato tolto il velo che copriva il volto di Mosè. Dimostra anche il suo ininterrotto dialogare con la Scrittura. L'Apostolo riconosce nel volto del Cristo - quel volto che ha trasfigurato la sua vita e lo ha definitivamente conquistato - la vera immagine di Dio. Al Figlio di Dio crocifisso e risorto Paolo ha affidato la sua causa: la sua parrhs…a non è soffocata dalle tribolazioni che sembrano minacciare la sua stessa vita. Proprio nelle sofferenze con le quali segue la crescita dell'™kklhs…a, l'Apostolo realizza la configurazione a Colui che gli si è manifestato e al suo eÙaggšlion. Il linguaggio di questi versetti riflette il vissuto dinamico della giovane chiesa di Corinto, chiamata a proteggere la koinwn…a e a rafforzarsi nell'¢g£ph, senza lasciarsi avvincere dalle lusinghe di chi intende separarla dal suo ministro (di£konoj-doàloj), Paolo. / Paul, Moses and the non-revoked Covenant in 2 Cor 3,1-4,6
The pericope of 2 Cor 3,1-4,6 belongs to a dense and perplexing writing. In the wider frame of the confrontation with the “opponents”, the text examined shows Paul's faithfulness to his roots, which are put down in the Israel of the promise and of the berît settled forever, which is “new” because renewed and set free from the veil which covered Moses' face. It also shows Paul's uninterrupted dialogue with Scripture. The Apostle recognizes in Christ's face - the face that transfigured his life and definitively gained him - God's true image. Paul has relied on the crucified and risen Son of God; so his parrhs…a is not stifled by the tribulations that seem to threaten his own life. Right in the sufferings in which he follows the growing of the ™kklhs…a, the Apostle assumes the shape of Who that revealed himself to him and of his eÙaggšlion. The language of these verses mirrors the dynamic background of the Corinthian church, called to shield the koinwn…a and to get stronger in the ¢g£ph, without being won over by the flattery of those who try to divide her from her minister (di£konoj-doàloj), Paul.
