These doctoral theses deal with relationship between the architecture and the public, and a clarification of a role massmedia play in it. The particular affair related to the project of a new building for the National Library in Prague by architect Jan Kaplicky was choosed as a base of this work. Plans were designed in 2006 and 2007. The first chapter contains detailed descrioption of the affair and analysis of gathered material. It explores courses and ways mass media reflect choosen affair. And it also deduces conclusions relevant for the whole sphere of a mass media frame in which architecture operates. In the second chapter selected affair provides a background for the exploration of relationships between the architecture, the public and mass media; a special attention is paid to individual roles of each.
