In a first "critical"part, the present thesis offers an analysis of the poetic of non-meeting in the novelist of Quebec, Louis Gauthier. It will be a question here of exploring the trilogy of this writer dedicated to the travel narratives by trying to show that certain predispositions reduce the chances of the protagonist to live the experience of meeting. We shall be interested in impossibility for the narrator, at the same time traveller and writer, to establish a dialogue, to find words to get into contact with those that crosses his road. These features will allow us then to see how the trilogy will act as warning for our own writing. / The second and last part "creation" will especially be constituted of short stories around the topic of meeting. Those short stories, composed in most cases of travel narratives, answer and tend to form a timeless collection where the relation with Others is essential and omnipresent. / Dans un premier volet « critique », le présent mémoire propose une analyse de la poétique de la non-rencontre chez le romancier québécois Louis Gauthier. Il s'agira ici d'explorer la trilogie de cet écrivain consacrée aux récits de voyage en tentant de montrer que certaines prédispositions amenuisent les chances du protagoniste de vivre l'expérience de la rencontre. Nous nous intéresserons à l'impossibilité pour le narrateur, à la fois voyageur et écrivain, d'établir un dialogue, de trouver les mots pour entrer en contact avec ceux qu'il croise. Ces particularités nous permettront ensuite de voir comment la trilogie servira de repoussoir pour notre propre travail d'écriture. / Le deuxième et dernier volet « création » sera surtout constitué de nouvelles littéraires autour du thème de la rencontre. Ces nouvelles, composées principalement de récits de voyages, se répondent et tendent à former un recueil intemporel où la relation à l'Autre est essentielle et omniprésente.
