Este estudo objetiva caracterizar o capital social constituÃdo em um Arranjo Produtivo Local â
APL de mÃveis localizado na regiÃo norte do Estado do CearÃ, privilegiando os seus aspectos
operacionais, processuais e organizacionais. A importÃncia do estudo decorre da utilizaÃÃo da
teoria do capital social, um corpo teÃrico emergente que se fundamenta na mobilizaÃÃo de fatores
humanos de natureza coletiva, em alternativa aos aportes tradicionais explicativos do
desenvolvimento econÃmico e social. A pesquisa à de natureza qualitativa, do tipo exploratÃrio e
descritivo. Para isto, empreendeu-se uma pesquisa teÃrica em profundidade, alÃm de pesquisa de
campo, na modalidade estudo de caso, tendo como unidade de anÃlise o APL de mÃveis de
Marco/CE. A coleta de dados por meio de entrevistas semi-diretivas e semi-estruturadas foi
conduzida com 25 atores individuais e institucionais, representativos da cadeia de valor que
constitui o referido APL. A anÃlise documental e dos conteÃdos permitiu descrever resultados
econÃmicos, sociais e institucionais, nos planos da geraÃÃo de renda, de trabalho e do
desenvolvimento de competÃncias individuais e organizacionais, referenciados em elementos de
anÃlise que compÃem as dimensÃes cognitiva, relacional e estrutural da teoria do capital social,
constituindo referenciais vÃlidos para a gestÃo estratÃgica de organizaÃÃes e de pessoas. / This study aims to characterize the social capital constituted in a Local Productive Arrangement -
LPA of furniture located in the northern state of CearÃ, focusing their operational aspects,
procedural and organizational. The importance of the study stems from the use of the theory of
social capital, a body emerging theory that is based on the mobilization of human factors in
nature collective, as an alternative to traditional explanatory contributions of economic and social
development. The research is of a qualitative nature of the types exploratory and descriptive. For
this, a theoretical research in depth was undertaken, and a search field in the case study, with the
unit of analysis the productive cluster of furniture in Marco/CE. The data collection through
interviews semi-directives and semi-structured was conducted with 25 individual and institutional
actors, representing the value chain of the productive cluster. The documentary analysis and
content allowed describe economic, social and institutional results, in terms of generating
income, employment and the development of individual and organizational skills, referenced in
elements of analysis which are the dimensions cognitive, relational and structural theory of the
social capital, constituting valid benchmarks for the strategic management of organizations and
individuals.
