Previous issue date: 2018-02-20 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Este trabalho analisa a influência das variáveis relacionadas ao aluno, aos cursos e ao tempo, na decisão de permanecer ou evadir nos cursos de licenciaturas da Universidade Federal de Viçosa entre os anos de 2010 a 2016. Atráves da modelo empírico Logit multinível, a análise foi feita por meio de duas estimações: evasão no primeiro ano e evasão a partir do primeiro ano. Como resultados, foram observados que as variáveis que mais impactam na probabilidade de evasão durante o primeiro ano são os rendimentos acadêmicos, receber auxílio, a participação em pesquisa, cota na modalidade 3 (candidatos que cursaram o ensino médio integralmente em escolas públicas brasileiras, autodeclarados pretos, pardos ou indígenas, independente da renda familiar), estoque de capital humano e crise econômica. Além destas as variáveis, as de experiência docente e qualificação do docente também foram estatisticamente significativas. Para a segunda estimativa, as variáveis de curso deixaram de ser significativas, assim o como a de cota, enquanto as variáveis que indicam se o aluno pretende trabalhar, se frequentou cursinho e se a mãe possui ensino fundamental e médio passam a influenciar essa decisão. Percebe-se que o maior efeito sobre o abandono decorre do rendimento e também da questão da assistência ao aluno, seja por meio de moradia e alimentação ou por bolsas de pesquisa. Portanto, para a redução das taxas de abandono seria interessante uma maior interação da universidade com o aluno, como forma de melhorar o comprometimento do discente com o objetivo de conclusão do curso. / This paper analyzes the influence of the variables related to the student, to the courses and to the time, in the decision to remain or evade in the undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Viçosa between the years 2010 to 2016. Through the multilevel Logit empirical model, the analysis was made by means of two estimates: first-year evasion and evasion from the first year. As results, it was observed that the variables that most impact on the probability of avoidance during the first year are the academic performance, receive aid, participation in research, quota in modality 3 (candidates who attended high school in Brazilian public schools, self-declared blacks, pardos or indigenous people, regardless of family income), stock of human capital and economic crisis. In addition to these variables, teacher experience and teacher qualification were also statistically significant. For the second estimate, the course variables are no longer significant, as is the quota, while the variables that indicate if the student intends to work, if he attended a course and if the mother has a primary and secondary education, they influence this decision. It can be seen that the greatest effect on drop-out results from academic performance and also from the question of student assistance, whether through housing and food or through research grants. Therefore, to reduce the dropout rates, it would be interesting to have a better interaction between the university and the student, as a way to improve the student's commitment to the objective of completing the course.
