Comparison between locomotory behavior of lymphocytes of WWV mutant and normal house-mouse

The rate of motility of lymphocytes from anemic mice of the WW[superscript V] genotype and their normal ++ littermates was determined in vitro by time-lapse cinephotomicrography. A comparison of their speeds on an isogenic kidney monolayer or feeder layer suggests that the speed of locomotion of lymphocytes from the WW[superscript V] mice may be somewhat reduced. If subsequently verified, this would suggest that cells produced in the lymphatic tissue show, in addition to the well known abnormalities in the erythrocytes, pigmented cells of the neural crest and the primordial germ cells, a further defect caused by mutation at the W locus. / Science, Faculty of / Zoology, Department of / Graduate
