La presente investigación tiene por objetivo analizar los procesos de empoderamiento en
madres adolescentes institucionalizadas, desde el Enfoque de Capacidades y el Enfoque de
Género, para la construcción de una propuesta de lectura sinérgica. Como herramientas de
análisis, se utiliza la revisión documental, así como entrevistas a profundidad realizadas en
un Centro de Atención Residencial (CAR) en Lima Metropolitana que atiende a madres
adolescentes, la mayoría de ellas como resultado de la violencia sexual. Se analiza la
trayectoria de las madres adolescentes y el papel que la familia, el sistema judicial y policial,
y el mismo centro de acogida estarían teniendo en sus procesos de empoderamiento. A partir
de esto, se concluye que en muchos casos estas instituciones se constituirían como espacios
de victimización y contribuirían al desempoderamiento de las menores. Finalmente, se
generan recomendaciones al Estado y a los Centros de Atención Residencial (CAR) a fin de
que logren fomentar el empoderamiento de las madres adolescentes institucionalizadas. / This study aims to analyze the empowerment processes in institutionalized adolescent
mothers, under the perspective of the Capacity Approach and the Gender Approach, to build
a synergistic reading proposal. As analysis tools, documentary review is used, as well as indepth
interviews conducted in a Residential Care Center (CAR) in Lima that cares for
adolescent and pregnant mothers, most of whom have been sexually abused. The trajectory
of these mothers and the role that the family, the judicial and police system, and the CAR itself
have in their empowerment processes are analyzed. It is concluded that in many cases these
institutions victimize the adolescent mothers and contribute to their disempowerment. Finally,
recommendations are made to the State and the CARs to promote the empowerment of
institutionalized adolescent mothers.
