Previous issue date: 2013 / O presente trabalho tem sua análise centrada na comarca do Rio de Janeiro, entre os anos de 1710 e 1790. Trata-se de um estudo sobre a administração da justiça a partir da Ouvidoria Geral do Rio de Janeiro e de seus ouvidores gerais. Essa instituição foi criada em 1608 e efetivamente extinta somente em 1833. O cargo de ouvidor geral era um ofício trienal, de nomeação régia. Durante o período mencionado foram nomeados vinte e três bacharéis formados na Universidade de Coimbra. Realizamos uma análise das carreiras e trajetórias desses magistrados. Em 1696, foi criado o cargo de juiz de fora e com isso a administração régia no campo da justiça passou a ser de responsabilidade de dois funcionários. Em 1752, foi instalado um novo Tribunal da Relação com sede na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Assim, analisamos os aspectos institucionais e as relações estabelecidas entre as três instâncias de justiça presentes na comarca do Rio de Janeiro no século XVIII: a Ouvidoria Geral, o Tribunal da Relação do Rio de Janeiro e o Juizado de Fora. / This work has its analysis centered in the district of the Rio de Janeiro, between the years of 1710 and 1790. This is a study about the administration of the justice from the Ombudsman’s office in Rio de Janeiro and its general ombudsmans. This institution was established in 1608 and effectively abolished only in 1833. The office of general ombudsman was a triennial work, of royal appointment. During the mentioned period twenty-three bachelors graduate at the University of Coimbra were appointed. We accomplished analysis of the careers and trajectories of these magistrates. In 1696, the office of judge from outside was created; thereby the royal administration in the range of justice became responsibility of two administration officials. In 1752, it was installed a new Court of Justice settled in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Thus, we analyze the institutional aspects and the relations established between the three spheres of justice present in the district of Rio de Janeiro in the eighteenth century: the Ombudsman office, the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro and the Judgeship of Outside.
