O contexto das investigações é o das transformações ocorridas ao longo do processo de redemocratização do país nas duas últimas décadas do século XX, um cenário marcado por discursos igualitários, mas, em contrapartida, por conjunturas significativamente permeadas por assimetrias de gênero. Por meio do resgate da memória, busca (re)construir as vivências e relatos, formas de identidades e subjetividades, tendo em vista as práticas e experiências desempenhadas pelas pessoas. Desta forma, a partir da identificação da condição masculina e feminina no âmbito local, ressalta, apesar dos enunciados democratizantes constantemente proferidos, a permanência das desigualdades entre homens e mulheres. Assim, discute os mecanismos por intermédio dos quais ocorre a (re)produção das relações desiguais de gênero e problematiza as práticas culturais como constituintes de tais processos. Dentre essas práticas, destaca que a escola do período se estabeleceu como espaço da continuidade da organização dos papéis masculinos e femininos e da garantia da permanência da ordem e das relações de poder existentes / Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze gender relationships established among men, women and school in the city of Marilia/SP, in the 1990's. The context of the investigation is the transformations that occurred during the process of democratization of the country in the last two decades of the twentieth century, a scenario marked not only by egalitarian speeches, but also by conjunctures significantly permeated by gender asymmetries. By rescuing the memory, we try to (re) construct the experiences and stories, forms of identities and subjectivities, in view of the practices and experiences carried out by people. Thus, from the identification of male and female condition at the local level, it highlights the persistence of inequalities between men and women, despite the constantly delivered democratizing statements. Thus, it discusses the mechanisms through which occurs the (re) production of unequal gender relations and discusses cultural practices as constituents of such processes.
