Mostra-se a inexistência de estados ligados de bósons de spin 1 em um potencial sinal / The relativistic problem of spin-0 and spin-1 bosons subject to a double-step potential is explored in the context of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau theory with nonminimal vector coupling. Scattering states are analyzed and an oscillatory transmission coefficient is found. An interesting point regarding the scattering of spin-0 bosons is that the transmission coefficient never vanishes, regardless of the size of the potential step. Surprisingly, one can never have an incident wave totally reflected, and the transmission amplitude has complex poles corresponding to bound states. It is shown that such bound states are intrinsically relativistic. Extending the analysis of spin-0 bosons, the scattering of spin-1 bosons is investigated in terms of eigenstates of the helicity operator. It is shown that the transmission coefficient, with the same form as that for spinless bosons, is insensitive to the choice of polarization of the incident beam. The interesting special case of bosons subject to a sign potential, with its unique bound-state solution for spinless bosons, is analyzed as a limiting case. It is shown the inexistence of bound states of spin-1 bosons in a sign potential
