Hot och våld inom ambulanssjukvård

Threats and violence are increasing in ambulance care. This is a growing problem. Ambulance care is important for emergency care in the world. In this profession, many workers describe that they have been exposed to some form of threat or violence where many believe that their personal safety may be in danger. Aim of the study: To describe threats and violence that occur in ambulance care. Method: A descriptive literature study in which 13 scientific articles were processed. Database searches have been made in PubMed and Cinahl. The results of the articles were divided into different themes. Results: The result showed that the ambulance personnel were exposed to both psychological and physical threats and violence which were often violations, punches, kicks, sexual harassment and sexual abuse. Damage with various weapons and attachments was common in physical violence. The patient and his relatives were the largest group to carry out various threats and violence. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it appears that physical and psychological threats and violence emerge within the ambulance profession. Threats and violence are increasing in ambulance care and through solid training and if proper action strategies are in place against threats and violence, ambulance staff can prepare and defend themselves in violent situations and the care of the patient not to affect to the same extent.
