Studies on biotin metabolism

Note: / This research was undertaken in order to obtain some knowledge of the role of biotin in mammalian metabolism. Toward this end, preliminary gross metabolism experiements were performed in which biotin-carboxyl-carbon-14 was injected into white mice and the various tissues and excreta examind for radioactivity. In the course of these experiments, an appreciable fraction of the injected activity appeared in the expired carbon dioxide.
