Previous issue date: 2016-09 / Este trabalho tem por objetivo estudar uma categoria específica de trabalhadores, os chapeados, em Campina Grande-PB nas décadas de 1980 e 1990. Desse modo, procuramos analisar as práticas cotidianas do ofício, as impressões acerca do que viveram na cidade e no mundo do trabalho, num cenário de pouca oportunidade de emprego, crescimento de zonas periféricas e inchaço da população. Os principais jornais em circulação à época, anunciaram o fechamento de várias fábricas e indústrias, demonstrando uma atmosfera de crise, situação que refletiu no cotidiano de muitos trabalhadores. A partir desse aspecto de cidade que pouco pareceu oferecer oportunidades para determinados perfis de trabalhadores, buscou-se demonstrar as tensões acerca do que é viver na cidade dependendo de uma atividade que pressupõe força física, como a dos chapeados. Para realizar esse trabalho, utilizamos entrevistas
feita com os trabalhadores, bem como lançamos mão de matérias de jornais para ampliar o olhar sobre o contexto da cidade. Para tanto, a partir das impressões dos chapeados, buscou-se demonstrar outras maneiras de compreender a cidade e os aspetos atrelados ao mundo do trabalho, demonstrando que existe uma relação tênue entre o fazer-se dos trabalhadores com as mudanças da cidade. / This work aims to study a specific category of workers, clad in Campina Grande- PB in the 1980s and 1990s this way, we seek to analyze the everyday craft practices, the impressions about what lived in the city and in the world I work in a scenario of little opportunity for employment, growth of peripheral areas and swelling the population. The major newspapers in circulation at the time, announced the closure of several factories and industries, showing an atmosphere of crisis, a situation that reflected in the daily lives of many workers. From this city of some aspect that seemed to offer opportunities for certain
profiles of workers, sought to demonstrate the tensions about what is living in the city depending on an activity that requires physical strength, like that of silver. To accomplish this work, we use interviews made with the workers, and lay hold of newspaper materials to broaden perspectives on the city context. Therefore, from the impressions of silver, sought to demonstrate other ways to understand the city and linked aspects to the world of work, demonstrating that there is a tenuous relationship between the make-up of workers with the city changes.
