The main aim of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate level of knowledge and skills of project management principles by project managers, who are dealing with regional development problems. In the first part of this thesis the most popular standards and methodology of project management are mentioned. Based on the analysis of secondary data, a set of questions, necessary for obtaining of relevant information for the fulfillment of goals, was designed. Processing of the obtained data enabled to identify deficiencies in project management knowledge of respondents. The last part of this thesis is focused on the proposal of solutions in order to improve the situation by presenting a set of certain methods and techniques with respect to every characteristic of regional development project.
