The thesis subject is to discuss the indigenous population of Mexico in 19th and 20th century and the position of these in diferent form of state. The aim of this work is a continuous study of situation of indigenous population during origin and formation of Mexican nation. Whereas the work is closely related to historical development, the thesis is conceived from a historical perspective and outlines the most important events in Mexican history. The summary brings final conclusions of findings.
