2010_FabianaFranciscaMacena.pdf: 1413268 bytes, checksum: 92d82f989217b78872c1b935acefff87 (MD5) / Essa dissertação tem como objeto de estudo a construção da modernidade e do feminino na cidade do Rio de Janeiro no contexto da Belle Époque (1907-1914) nas páginas da revista Fon-Fon, publicação do início do século XX, reconhecida como semanário sintonizado com os novos tempos da modernidade carioca. Nosso objetivo foi o de investigar como se construiu a modernidade e o feminino na análise das imagens, representações e significações veiculadas pela Fon-Fon. Procuramos evidenciar os modos como os autores de diversas seções da revista representaram e significaram a modernização e o feminino, como eles fizeram sua leitura e, ao mesmo tempo, como ensinaram o/a leitor/a a ler/interpretar tais construtos. A pesquisa de seus textos revelounos que, além da modernidade, o periódico operou também na construção discursiva do gênero naquela sociedade em processo de modernização. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research aimed to analyze how the modernity and the feminine were built in the context of Belle Époque (1907-1914), in the city of Rio de Janeiro, according to Fon- Fon which was a weekly magazine, published in the beginning of the 20th century and recognized as a way to be updated on the Carioca's society. Our intention was to investigate how the modernity and the feminine was built through the analysis of images, representations and meanings broadcasted by Fon-Fon. We tryed to show the way that the authors, from differents sections of the magazine, represented the modernization and the feminine, how they did their readings and, at the same time, how they taught the readers to read and interpret those concepts. The results highlight that, besides the modernity, the magazine also worked in the discursive construction of gender in that society which was passing through a modernization process.
