PUC Campinas / The ensemble of farms located in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, represents a great collection of reminiscences in the formation of the territory from the first attempts of arrival at the gold mines until the affirmation of the region as the most producer of items exported to the Court. The farms are exemplary creators of a rural landscape, which will be analyzed as a spatial representation in the process of construction of the territory and as the generator of the small cities in the region. In analyzing the symbolic values associated with the landscape, it is intended to demonstrate that the protection actions for the set of material and immaterial goods that make up the southern territory of Minas Gerais need to be supported by new parameters of value attribution and new scales of apprehension. Therefore, the central hypothesis is that the cultural landscape of the studied region combines a specific geography with singular natural elements and a significant material and immaterial patrimony that still remains integrated through the reiteration of social practices, over time, whose value can only be measured when the field of apprehension is returned to the history of the formation of the territory and the landscape and not to the significant elements alone. / O conjunto de fazendas localizado no sul do estado de Minas Gerais representa um grande acervo de remanescentes da forma??o do territ?rio desde as primeiras tentativas de chegada ?s minas de ouro at? a afirma??o da regi?o como maior produtora de itens exportados para a Corte. As fazendas s?o exemplares formadores de uma paisagem rural, que ser? analisada como representa??o espacial do processo de constru??o do territ?rio e como geradora das pequenas cidades existentes na regi?o. Ao analisar os valores simb?licos associados ? paisagem, pretende-se demonstrar que as a??es de prote??o para o conjunto de bens materiais e imateriais que comp?em o territ?rio sul mineiro necessitam se apoiar em novos par?metros de atribui??o de valor e novas escalas de apreens?o. Portanto, a hip?tese central ? a de que a paisagem cultural da regi?o estudada combina uma geografia espec?fica, com elementos naturais singulares e um significativo patrim?nio material e imaterial que ainda se mant?m integrado por meio da reitera??o de pr?ticas sociais, ao longo do tempo, cujo valor s? pode ser aferido quando se volta o campo de apreens?o para a hist?ria da forma??o do territ?rio e da paisagem e n?o para os elementos significativos isoladamente.
