This dissertation describes the life and work of Milada Mašatová, one of the most prominent people in drama education and puppet theatre played by children in Czechoslovakia (and later in the Czech Republic), as well as her educational methods and her contribution to drama education. The dissertation focuses on her life and experience she gained while working with children and other students at primary school, art school, and university. Furthermore, the dissertation addresses the methods used to manage drama clubs, and lead drama-literature courses and seminars in the mentioned institutions. The dissertation also explains Milada Mašatová’s attitude towards drama education and the puppet theatre, and what convinced her of its positive impact on children’s development.
