Measurement of Anticipatory and Direct Repsonses to a Painful Stimulus in Schizophrenic Patients Before and After Lobotomy.

In 1948 a program was instituted at Ste Anne's Veterans' Hospital, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, P.Q., to investigate the effects of prefrontal lobotomy on schizophrenic patients. Prefrontal lobotomy is an operation involving bilateral subcortical section of the anterior portion of each frontal lobe.
