Overall, the environmental impacts arising from human intervention in nature, thus, understand the relationship of the same with the environment, can reveal important data in this process. Thus, this study investigated the environmental perception of 30 residents (men and women) who live around the Lake of Alexius and streams for at least three decades. The overall objective was to investigate changes in perceived natural landscape surrounding the lake and the reflection of Alexius in their lives over the past 30 years. The specific objectives of this study contemplated the characterization of the physical aspects of the study area, and the pursuit of their perception of residents about the changes in the natural landscape, and the consequences produced by industrialization and urbanization, the local water bodies. The methodology was initially used was the simple observation to characterize the physical area and the social use of the place. After this step, semi-structured interviews were conducted to verify the environmental perception of residents. From the content analysis it was found that the residents have identified that the main social and environmental problems have arisen from the establishment of firms and the local population increase. The results obtained allow us to infer that the changes produced in this process significantly affected the lives of people who depended on the activities on the lake. Although this study did not claim to be conclusive and complete, it brings up possibilities for understanding and brands that have affected the daily life lived by these people and their direct relationship with the environment. The study provides theoretical confirmation of the inseparability of spatiality in the social structure present in a locality and the environment and people are aspects of the same world, so that are interdependent / Tão importante quanto avaliar um impacto ambiental e seu reflexo na sociedade, é buscar explicações intrínsecas dessa sociedade, que possam acrescentar informações para melhor compreensão de tal impacto. De forma geral, os impactos ambientais surgem a partir da intervenção humana na natureza, dessa forma, entender a relação do mesmo com o ambiente, pode revelar dados importantes nesse processo. Assim, este trabalho investigou a percepção ambiental de trinta moradores (homens e mulheres) que vivem no entorno do Lago do Aleixo e Igarapés, há pelo menos três décadas. O objetivo geral foi investigar as mudanças na paisagem natural, percebidas no entorno do Lago do Aleixo e os reflexos nas vidas dos mesmos nos últimos 30 anos. Os objetivos específicos, desse estudo, contemplaram a caracterização dos aspectos físicos da área em estudo e a busca da percepção de seus moradores quanto às mudanças na paisagem natural e as consequências produzidas pela industrialização e urbanização nos corpos hídricos locais. A metodologia utilizada foi ,inicialmente, a observação simples para caracterizar a área física e o uso social do lugar. Após essa etapa, foram feitas entrevistas semiestruturadas para verificar a percepção ambiental destes moradores. A partir da Análise de Conteúdo, foi detectado que os moradores identificaram que os principais problemas sociais e ambientais surgiram a partir da instalação das empresas e do aumento populacional local. Os resultados obtidos nos permitem inferir que as mudanças produzidas nesses processos, afetaram significativamente a vida das pessoas que dependiam das atividades desenvolvidas no lago. Apesar de que, esse estudo, não tenha a pretensão de ser conclusivo e completo, o mesmo traz à tona possibilidades de entendimento e marcas que afetaram o cotidiano vivido por essas pessoas e sua direta relação com o ambiente. O estudo apresenta confirmações teóricas da indissociabilidade da espacialidade na estrutura social presentes numa localidade e que o ambiente e pessoas são aspectos de um mesmo mundo, de tal forma, que são interdependentes.
