Previous issue date: 2012-10-26 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The book Problems of Children's Literature, by Cecília Meireles, was first published in 1951, as a result of three lectures given by the author, in Belo Horizonte, in 1949, during a course sponsored by the Department of Education, the State of Minas Gerais. These conferences led to focus on broad themes work, but not separately analyze his nineteen chapters, but the intradiscourse that pervades. In the broadest sense of the book, we highlight the characteristics of children's literature, and the relationship between literature and writing. There are two main objectives of this research: to reveal, from the works concerned the placement of Cecília Meireles on children's literature in an important moment in the Brazilian educational history, and conclude the discursive ethos that the author constructs when dealing with themes of the book. To achieve the proposed objectives, we used the theoretical framework which includes the guidance that Maingueneau Dominique (2001, 2006a, 2008c) prints the AD French. We emphasize the discursive dimensions regarding paratopia, autoralidade and discursive ethos. Other concepts are also used, always reset depending on the perspective of our goals. The assays Lajolo (1982, 1996) and Zilberman (1994, 2001), two of the greatest experts in the field of children's literature in Brazil, are decisive contribution to this study. These works highlight the genesis of the genre, the historical context in which it develops, as well as the relationship of children's literature with the school institution. To broaden the base of theoretical and methodological research, we also consider the work of Pécaut (1990) who investigates the conviction of Brazilian intellectuals based in the responsibility of nation building in the first half of the twentieth century. The limits of the corpus of analysis takes into account the characterization of children's literature, according to the Problems of children's literature, the publications that refer to this work and proposals of the French AD that may be related to children's literature. Could not find any research (Google Academic and libraries of PUC-SP, USP, UNICAMP and UNESP) examining the Problems of children's literature book in the foundations of discourse analysis, the perspective developed by Dominique Maingueneau. Given the lack resides there, one of the contributions of this work. Finally, the analysis of conceptions of Cecília Meireles about children's literature in the context of AD French it seems fruitful and could help with the work of teachers of elementary school, the effect of a point of view "humanistic" about literature the child / O livro Problemas da Literatura Infantil, de Cecília Meireles, foi publicado
pela primeira vez, em 1951, como resultado de três conferências proferidas pela autora,
em Belo Horizonte, em 1949, por ocasião de um curso promovido pela Secretaria de
Educação, do Estado de Minas Gerais. Tais conferências que deram origem a obra
enfocam temas abrangentes, no entanto não analisaremos isoladamente seus dezenove
capítulos, mas o intradiscurso que os perpassa. No sentido mais amplo do livro,
destacamos a caracterização da literatura infantil, e a relação entre a literatura oral e
escrita. São dois os objetivos principais desta pesquisa: revelar, a partir da obra em
questão, o posicionamento de Cecília Meireles sobre literatura infantil em um momento
importante da história educacional brasileira, e depreender o ethos discursivo que a
autora constrói ao tratar os temas do livro. Para atingir os objetivos propostos, lançamos
mão do referencial teórico que contempla a orientação que Dominique Maingueneau
(2001, 2006a, 2008c) imprime à AD francesa. Destacamos as dimensões discursivas
referentes à paratopia, autoralidade e ethos discursivo. Outros conceitos também serão
utilizados, sempre redefinidos em função da perspectiva dos nossos objetivos. Os
ensaios de Lajolo (1982; 1996) e Zilberman (1994; 2001), duas das maiores
especialistas na área da literatura infantil no Brasil, constituem contribuição decisiva
para este estudo. Destacamos dessas obras a gênese do gênero, o contexto histórico em
que se desenvolve, assim como a relação da literatura infantil com a instituição escolar.
Para ampliar a base teórico-metodológica da pesquisa, consideramos também a obra de
Pécaut (1990) que investiga a convicção dos intelectuais brasileiros pautada na
responsabilidade da construção da nação, na primeira metade do século XX. A
delimitação do corpus de análise leva em conta a caracterização da literatura infantil, de
acordo com os Problemas da literatura infantil, as publicações que fazem referência a
essa obra e as propostas da AD francesa que possam ser relacionadas com literatura
infantil. Não encontramos nenhuma investigação (no Google Acadêmico e nas
bibliotecas da PUC-SP, da USP, da UNICAMP e da UNESP) que analise o livro
Problemas da literatura infantil sob os fundamentos da análise do discurso, na
perspectiva desenvolvida por Dominique Maingueneau. Dada à inexistência, reside aí,
uma das contribuições do presente trabalho. Finalmente, a análise das concepções de
Cecília Meireles a respeito da literatura infantil na perspectiva da AD francesa parecenos
fecunda e poderá contribuir com o trabalho do professor do Ensino Fundamental,
como efeito de um ponto de vista humanístico a respeito da literatura para a criança
