Allt eftersom fler människor dör på sjukhus eller vårdas av vårdpersonal hemma eller på särskilt boende innebär det för sjuksköterskan att mötet med patienter i livets slut inte går förbisedd. Inom alla delar av vården möter sjuksköterskan patienter i livets slut och i vårdandet av dessa patienter är sjuksköterskans yrkesroll betydelsefullt. Patienter i livets slut och anhöriga ska bli tillgodosedda adekvat vård och bemötande för att livskvalité ska uppnås. Studier och rapporter har dock visat att inom detta område råder det brister och sjuksköterskans upplevelse av vård vid livets slut inte alltid upplevs positivt. Syftet med denna studie var att genom ett sjuksköterskeperspektiv undersöka vilka faktorer som ansågs av sjuksköterskan vara betydande för att uppnå god palliativ vård samt vilka eventuella utmaningar som sjuksköterskan upplevde i den palliativa vården. Metoden som använts i denna studie var en litteraturstudie. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar har använts i studien och i resultatet har det framkommit två teman: gynnsamma faktorer för palliativ vård och utmaningar inom palliativ vård. Gynnsamma faktorer för palliativ vård är faktorer som upplevdes positivt av sjuksköterskan i arbetet med palliativ vård, följande underteman till gynnsamma faktorer är: kommunikativa aspekter, berikande upplevelser och holistisk synsätt. Utmaningar inom palliativ vård är de faktorer som upplevdes negativt av sjuksköterskan, och följande underteman hör till: kommunikativa aspekter, känslomässiga aspekter, kliniska aspekter och utbildning och erfarenhet. / As more people die in hospitals or cared for by medical staff at home or in residential care it means that for nurses the meeting with patients in end of life cannot be overlooked. In every aspect of health and social care nurses find patients in end of life and in caring for these patients the nurses' professional role is important. Patients and their family will be met for adequate care and treatment so that quality of life will be achieved. Studies and reports have shown that in this area, there are deficiencies and nurses' experience of care at the end of life is not always perceived positively. The purpose of this study was to provide a nursing perspective to examine the factors that were considered by the nurse to be significant in order to achieve good palliative care and the possible challenges that nurses experienced in palliative care. The method used in this study was a literature review. Ten articles were used in the study and the results have revealed two themes: enabling factors for palliative care and challenges in palliative care. Enabling factors for palliative care are factors that were experienced positively by the nurse in the work of palliative care, the following sub-themes to the favorable factors are: communicative aspects, enriching experiences and holistic approach. Challenges in palliative care are the factors that were negatively perceived by the nurse, and the following sub-themes are: communicative aspects, emotional aspects, clinical aspects and the training and experience.
