Orientador: Rosângela Custódio Cortez Thomaz / Banca: Rosangela Aparecida de Medeiros Hespanhol / Banca: Milton Augusto Pasquotto Mariani / Resumo: A abordagem sobre a cultura popular no espaço rural de Rosana/SP, localizado na região do Pontal do Paranapanema, diz respeito à relevância da identidade territorial e do patrimônio cultural como fator importante no processo de desenvolvimento territorial por meio do turismo no espaço rural. Consiste em considerar a cultura importante para o desenvolvimento social e econômico das comunidades envolvidas. Propõe - se a compreender o significado da identidade territorial e do patrimônio cultural no espaço rural de acordo com a visão dos envolvidos com a temática e identificar as medidas que contribuem para sua valorização. Por meio de pesquisa descritiva e exploratória e com estudo da literatura pertinente e mediante o uso de entrevistas semiestruturadas, com roteiro elaborado previamente e com questões em aberto, pois este tipo de entrevista possibilita mais flexibilidade à pesquisadora em inserir questões sobre aspectos importantes surgidas no ato da entrevista, e que não tenha sido contemplada no roteiro. Os atores sociais são os órgãos públicos e entidades relacionadas ao tema. Os dados coletados foram interpretados seguindo a bibliografia pesquisada e para analisar as manifestações culturais foi utilizado o formulário de inventariação turística do Ministério do Turismo (2006). Constatou que os entrevistados consideram a cultura como relevante para o desenvolvimento local. Observou-se que a valorização do patrimônio imaterial por meio da prática do turismo é de grande valia para a comunidade deste município, resgatando a história de vida, seus saberes e costumes, fortalecendo a sua autoestima e possibilitando agregar renda / Abstract: The approach about popular culture at the rural area of Rosana/SP, located at Pontal Paranapanema, concerns the importance of territorial identity and cultural heritage as a relevant factor in the process of social construction. It is important to consider the culture for social and economic development of the communities involved. It proposes to understand the significance of territorial identity and cultural heritage in rural areas according to the vision of those involved with the theme and identify the measures that contribute to their realization. Through descriptive and exploratory research and with the study of literature and by using semi-structured interviews with a pre-prepared script and open issues, because this type of interview allows more flexibility for the researcher to insert a question on some important aspect that emerged during the interview which has not been contemplated in the script. The social actors are public organizations and entities related to the theme. The data collected was interpreted by following the bibliography searched and in order to analyze the cultural manifestation was used the touristic inventory form from the Ministry of Tourism (2006). It was found that respondents consider culture as relevant to local development. It was observed that the valuation of intangible heritage through tourism practice is of great value to the community of this city, rescuing the history of life, their customs and knowledge, strengthening their self-esteem and enabling aggregate income / Mestre
