Previous issue date: 2011 / The present work analyses technology’s transference management on the grounds of the interaction between university-company, was selected for both the PUCRS. This interaction has increased and, in this context, institutions of education and research can contribute in an effective way to the generation of new technology, showing itself as an alternative of innovation to private educational institutions. In this direction, forms, factors involved and supportive structures and its mechanisms of management to technology’s transference were identified by interviews with researchers, businessmen and managers of technology’s transference on academic field. A qualitative research was chosen, based on studies of cases aiming to explore the perception of people involved in the phenomenon of analysis. The result founded allowed to identify the importance of supportive structures to develop interaction and transference of technology. Beside the facts involved founded in specific literature, motivations for companies’ participation in the interaction with university were founded, they relate to the image and the acknowledgment as an innovative company. The fact of the interaction with a private university was pointed out as a facilitator by the companies. Finally, the obstacles identified in the interviews and absent on theoretical data were about the difference of technical knowledge between academy and company and the consequent resistance in applying the results of technology’s transference. The results indicate new agent facts in the process of technology’s transference. Support structures are considered very important to management of technology’s transference and the interaction with the company. Increasing these activities, agility and flexibility are being demanded of these structures, under the penalty of lack of efficiency facing the activities related to innovation. / O presente trabalho analisa a gestão da transferência de tecnologia no âmbito da interação universidade-empresa, para tanto foi selecionada a PUCRS. A interação universidade-empresa tem se intensificado e, dentro deste contexto, as instituições de ensino e pesquisa podem contribuir de forma eficiente com a geração de novas tecnologias, manifestando-se como uma alternativa de inovação para o setor privado. Neste sentido, foram identificadas as formas, os fatores intervenientes e as estruturas de apoio e seus mecanismos de gestão da transferência de tecnologia em entrevistas com pesquisadores, empresários e gestores da transferência de tecnologia no âmbito acadêmico. Optou-se, portanto, por uma pesquisa qualitativa baseada em estudo de caso múltiplo visando explorar a percepção das pessoas envolvidas sobre o fenômeno em análise. O resultado encontrado permitiu identificar a importância das estruturas de apoio no suporte à interação e a transferência de tecnologia. Além dos fatores intervenientes encontrados na literatura, foram encontradas motivações das empresas em interagir com a universidade relacionada à imagem e reconhecimento como empresa inovadora. Foi identificado como facilitador, pelas empresas, o fato de interagirem com uma universidade privada e, finalmente, as barreiras identificadas nas entrevistas e ausentes na fundamentação teórica, foram em relação a diferença de conhecimento técnico entre academia e empresa e a consequente resistência na absorção dos resultados da transferência de tecnologia. Os resultados indicam novos fatores intervenientes no processo de transferência de tecnologia. As estruturas de apoio são consideradas muito importantes para a gestão do processo de transferência de tecnologia e a interação com a empresa. Com o aumento dessas atividades, agilidade e flexibilidade estão sendo exigidas das estruturas, sob pena da perda da eficiência frente as atividades relacionadas à inovação.
