Kineziterapijos ir ortopedinių įdėklų poveikis plokščiapadystės korekcijai / Effect of physiotherapy and orthotics on the correction of flatfoot

Flatfoot is common deformation that is diagnosed on average for 37-50% residents of our country. The problem is relevant because investigators present very different outcomes of treatment. Therefore the objective of this investigation was to evaluate effect of unstable planes and orthopedic inserts of different types on the correction of flatfoot. In order to achieve this object the following tasks were set: 1) to identify and evaluate degree of flatfoot of the both investigated groups before and after the correction; 2) to adjust individual and standard orthopedic inserts for subjects; 3) to identify and evaluate changes of subjects’ foot arch height on the basis of “Trufit” method before the corrective therapy and afterwards; 4) to evaluate functional capability of muscles before the corrective therapy and afterwards; and 5) to ascertain balance of the both investigated groups (on the basis of Flaming Test) before the corrective therapy and afterwards.
Investigation included 24 five-year old children. They were grouped in two groups with 12 children in each. Both groups have been exposed to different kinezitherapy programs. Investigation was carried out in Kaunas city kindergarten “Kulverstukas”. The first group of children has been exposed to specific kinezitherapy program on unstable spiny planes.
