Thesis advisor: Daniel J. Harrington / This thesis examines scripture as a source for inspiration and renewal for priests. Each chapter contains an exegesis of a key passage that uses priestly imagery and then reflects on the passage in its context and looks for implications regarding contemporary priesthood, especially the cultic, servant leader and apostolic dimensions. The three chapters cover the Letter to the Hebrews, the Gospel of John and selections from St. Paul, in turn. / Thesis (STL) — Boston College, 2010. / Submitted to: Boston College.
