Previous issue date: 2018-05-30 / The debate on sustainability and more sustainable ways of dealing with the environment in which we live have permeated with relevant importance in the rural environment. Regarding this theme, the present dissertation presents an approach regarding the dynamics of agroecological production of the farmers members of the West Center of Paraná of the Ecovida Network of Agroecology. Through the method of participant observation and the application of a questionnaire in an interview, the data were obtained, making possible the subsequent analysis of the same. Through the farmers' perceptions, it was possible to analyze important aspects related to the agroecological production and agroecology in the region studied. The results obtained show a growing agro-ecological scenario, which faces some obstacles, with the challenge of overcoming social problems, such as lack of labor, family succession, lack of adequate technologies, financial support, access to agroecological inputs, as well as the low organization of farmers in access to markets. Farmers find prospects for progress in the technical support of non-governmental organizations such as Biolabore and also the important support of Itaipu Binacional, which is a reference in encouraging sustainable practices and has been doing a relevant job with rural producers in the western region of Paraná, promoting the strengthening of non-conventional Family Agriculture. In the face of the recent and progressive discourse on sustainability, it is clear that the work of agroecological farmers becomes important and of great relevance for part of the society that seeks a rural with another development perspective, that of sustainable development. / O debate sobre sustentabilidade e formas mais sustentáveis de lidar com o meio em que vivemos têm permeado com relevante importância no meio rural. Relativo a esse tema, a presente dissertação traz uma abordagem referente a dinâmica de produção agroecológica dos agricultores membros do Núcleo Oeste do Paraná da Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia. Por meio do método da observação participante e da aplicação de questionário em entrevista obteve-se os dados, possibilitando fazer a posterior análise dos mesmos. De acordo com as percepções dos agricultores, foi possível analisar importantes aspectos relativos a como está a produção agroecológica e a agroecologia em si, na região estudada. Os resultados obtidos mostram um cenário agroecológico em lento crescimento e que enfrenta alguns obstáculos, tendo por desafio superar problemas, como a falta de mão de obra, a sucessão familiar, a falta de tecnologias adequadas, o apoio financeiro, o acesso à insumos agroecológicos, bem como a baixa organização dos agricultores no acesso aos mercados. Os agricultores encontram perspectivas de avanço no apoio técnico de organizações não governamentais como a Biolabore e também, o importante apoio da Itaipu Binacional, cuja hidrelétrica é referência no incentivo de práticas sustentáveis e, vem fazendo um relevante trabalho com os produtores rurais da região oeste do Paraná, promovendo o fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar não convencional. Frente ao recente e progressivo discurso da sustentabilidade, verificase que o trabalho dos agricultores agroecológicos se torna importante e de grande pertinência para parte da sociedade que almeja um crescimento rural com outra perspectiva de desenvolvimento, a do desenvolvimento sustentável.
