Konceptframtagning av icke kundanpassat isolerat lasthus / Concept development of non costumized insulated loadhouse

This report describes the bachelor thesis project conducted by Adam Bergström and Jonas Bergvad at the School of Engineering at Jönköping University 2017. The thesis was carried out on behalf of Portsystem 2000 AB in collaboration with Semcon AB as a final part of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Product Development and Design. The assignment was to develop a non- customized insulated loadhouse at concept level. A loadhouse is the link between the warehouse and the truck, used to protect the goods from external climate during loading and unloading. The company’s customers who are dealing with temperature sensitive products require an insulating function of the loadhouse, and therefore the company formulated this degree project with focus on product development. With a broad starting point, a pilot study was carried through at the beginning of the project to investigate the requirements and wishes that were put on the product by the company’s customers. With a defined requirement specification, the product development process progressed and resulted in a concept of a non-customized insulated loadhouse that Portsystem 2000 AB can use in further development of their future products. The insulating function of the loadhouse could be met by using the same wall and roof elements previously used by the company and therefore the project focused on optimizing the construction of the product by keeping down the amount of components and striving for a low installation height. Many thanks to Åsa Dencker, Johan Pelmas and Johan Örtlund for guidance during the project.
