I Järna, en liten stad med stort intresse för hållbart leverne och lokal odlande, ligger en kooperativ odling som heter Under Tallarna. Under Tallarna är en plats där du inte bara kan köpa lokala råvaror, utan du kan också utbilda dig själv, komma i gång med ditt eget jordbruksprojekt och njuta av olika kulturevenemang, ofta med fokus på mat och hållbart jordbruk. Denna organisation växer och det finns önskemål om att utöka både odlingsareal och andra funktioner på plats och detta projekt syftar till att förverkliga dessa önskemål. En ny publik hybridbyggnad visar upp en av samhällets kanske viktigaste funktioner, matproduktion, samtidigt som den utvidgar det redan etablerade programmet hos Under Tallarna. Huvudbyggnaden innehåller en serie flexibla rum avsedda för aktiviteter som sträcker sig från stökiga plantskolor till civiliserade offentliga möten. Här finns också ett auditorium och ett stort växthus som innehåller en restaurang, laboratorium och klassrum. Den andra byggnaden är en ny central byggnad för allt som rör organisationen, ett nytt kontor, förråd och en carport för maskiner och andra fordon. Målet för detta projekt har alltid varit att presentera en viktig funktion för allmänheten och därmed utbilda samhället i vad det är att vara matproducent, vilka utmaningar de möter och hur metoder kan utvecklas för att säkerställa en framtid med hållbar matproduktion. / In Järna, a small town with a keen interest for sustainable living and local farming, lies a co-operative farming organization called Under Tallarna. Under Tallarna is a place where you can not only buy local produce, but you can also educate yourself, get started on your own farming project and enjoy all sorts of cultural events, often focused on sustainable farming. This organization has been growing for some time and there are wishes to expand both the farming areal and other functions on site and this project aim to realise those wishes. A new hybrid building brings the public closer to one of society’s perhaps most important service, food production, while it also expands the already established program of Under Tallarna. The main building contains a series of flexible rooms intended for activities extending from rough agricultural exercises to civilised public meetings. There is also an auditorium and a large greenhouse containing a restaurant, lab, and classroom. The second building is a new centre for everything regarding the organization itself, a new office, storage and a carport for machines and other vehicles. The goal for this project has always been to present an important function to the public and thereby educate society in what it is to be a food producer, what challenges they face and how methods can be developed to ensure a future of sustainable food production.
