La presente investigación expone el estado del arte sobre los avances y retos de la Educación
Intercultural Bilingüe (EIB) evidenciados en los últimos diez años, los cuales se enmarcan
entre el 2010 al 2020. El interés por abordar este tema surge por la necesidad de analizar los
avances y retos de la EIB. De este modo, se busca aportar al conocimiento sobre la situación
de este modelo educativo dirigido a los pueblos originarios del Perú. Es así que, para elaborar
este documento, se ha recurrido a la revisión y selección de diversas investigaciones que
permiten acercarse a la realidad del tema de estudio. Asimismo, se han usado bases de datos
y repositorios institucionales. El tema de estudio, se circunscribe dentro del enfoque cualitativo
de tipo estudio documental, ya que se ha realizado un análisis bibliográfico para construir el
estado del arte. Respecto a la estructura del trabajo, está organizado en dos apartados. El
primero, es acerca de los avances de la EIB donde se detallan las políticas implementadas y
el modelo de servicio EIB. El segundo, es referida a los retos, en la que se ha dividido en tres
sub apartados que describen acerca de: una propuesta de currículo pertinente, una gestión
descentralizada con enfoque territorial y, en un enfoque intercultural y la participación
social. En relación a las reflexiones finales, resalta la importancia de las políticas para
consolidar los derechos de los pueblos indígenas, así como su derecho a la educación.
Asimismo, resulta importante contar con un modelo de servicio EIB, que permita orientar las
acciones pedagógicas. Por otro lado, urge implementar un currículo pertinente, una gestión
descentralizada con enfoque territorial, definir un concepto general sobre “interculturalidad” y
promocionar la participación social. / The present investigation exposes the state of the art on the advances and challenges of
Intercultural Bilingual Education (EIB) evidenced in the last ten years, which are framed
between 2010 and 2020. The interest in addressing this issue arises from the need to analyze
the progress and challenges of the EIB. Thus, it seeks to contribute to knowledge about the
situation of this educational model aimed at the native peoples of Peru. Thus, to develop this
document, we have resorted to the review and selection of various researches that allow us to
approach the reality of the subject of study. Likewise, databases and institutional repositories
have been used. The subject of study is limited to the qualitative approach of a documentary
study, since a bibliographic analysis has been carried out to construct the state of the art.
Regarding the structure of the work, it is organized in two sections. The first one is about the
advances of the EIB where the implemented policies and the model of EIB service are detailed.
The second one, is referred to the challenges, in which it has been divided in three sub sections
that describe about: a proposal of pertinent curriculum, a decentralized management with a
territorial approach and, in an intercultural approach and the social participation. In relation to
the final reflections, it highlights the importance of policies to consolidate the rights of
indigenous peoples, as well as their right to education. It is also important to have a model of
EIB service, which allows for the orientation of pedagogical actions. On the other hand, it is
urgent to implement a relevant curriculum, a decentralized management with a territorial
approach, to define a general concept on "interculturality" and to promote social participation.
