tempo, o que ? considerado longo e caro na cadeia que envolve a produ??o e comercializa??o
das sementes. Deste modo, t?cnicas que viabilizem a redu??o do tempo que se gasta para se
avaliar a qualidade de lotes de sementes ? muito favor?vel, do ponto de vista t?cnico,
econ?mico e cient?fico. A an?lise de imagens de sementes tanto por meio de raio-X como por
imagens digitais representam alternativas para estes setores, al?m de serem reproduz?veis e
r?pidos, dando maior agilidade e autonomia ?s atividades dos sistemas de produ??o. O
objetivo do trabalho foi analisar a morfologia interna de sementes desta esp?cie por meio de
imagens radiografadas e a efici?ncia da determina??o do incremento de ?rea de sementes
durante a embebi??o, por meio da an?lise de imagens e compar?-los com os resultados dos
testes de germina??o e vigor na avalia??o da qualidade fisiol?gica das sementes. Para os testes
de raio-X, as sementes foram expostas por 0,14 segundos ? radia??o de 40kV e 2,0 mAs. As
imagens obtidas foram analisadas utilizando o programa ImageJ e postas a germinar
posteriormente em c?mara do tipo B.O.D ? 27?C, no qual realizou-se a compara??o dos
resultados obtidos nos testes de germina??o. Para a determina??o do teste de incremento de
?rea (I.A%), foram utilizadas sementes com e sem tegumento, mantidas em c?mara do tipo
B.O.D a 15? e 20?C, as sementes foram fotografadas antes e ap?s o per?odo de embebi??o, os
resultados foram comparados com os ?ndices de germina??o. Para o teste de raio-X, observouse
que sementes com ?rea vazia superior a 20%, apresentaram maior percentual de pl?ntulas
anormais. E a an?lise de incremento de ?rea, evidenciou que ? poss?vel ranquear os lotes ap?s
8 horas de embebi??o a 15?C de acordo com os testes de germina??o e vigor / Several tests that evaluate the quality of seeds are destructive and require time, which is
considered long and expensive in the processes that involves the production and marketing of
seed. Thus, techniques that allow reducing the time related to assess the quality of seed lots is
very favorable, considering the technical, economic and scientific point of view. The
techniques images of seed analyzed both by X-ray such as digital images, represent
alternative for this sector, and are considered reproducible and fast, giving greater flexibility
and autonomy to the activities of production systems. Summarily, the objective was to
analyze the internal morphology of seeds of this species through x-rayed images and the
efficiency of weed seed area increased during soaking through image analysis and compare
them with the results of germination tests and force the evaluation of physiological seed
quality. For X-ray tests, the seeds were exposed for 0.14 seconds at radiation 40kV and 2.0
mAs. Were analyzed images using the ImageJ program and subsequently put to germinate in
B.O.D chamber at 27 ? C, in which there was the comparison of results for germination. To
determine the test area increase (% IA), seeds were used with and without seed coat,
maintained the B.O.D chamber at 15 ? to 20 ? C, the seeds were photographed before and
after the soaking period, the results were compared to the germination rates. For the X-ray
test, it was observed that seeds with empty area greater than 20%, showed a higher percentage
of abnormal seedlings. And the area increment analysis showed that it is possible to rank the
batch after 8 hours of imbibition at 15 ? C according to the germination and vigor tests
