Previous issue date: 2014 / The feminist movement post-60, despite its different currents, brought a core category that changed indelibly “the ways in which contemporary societies think and wonder” (SORJ, 2002, p. 99), namely, the gender. Gender went on to inform both social theories as public policy, and it is exactly in these two areas that this study will address. In the first chapter we seek to work feminism as a critique and theoretical reconstruction, bringing authors of Critical Theory as Seyla Benhabib, Iris Young and Nancy Fraser.It is found in each one: 1) the project of critical feminist theory and 2) a debate regarding the public/private dichotomy. From this discussion, in the second chapter will be made a reconstruction of gender in public policies in Brazil, trying to perceive the normative principles that guide these policies. The third chapter then presents a reflection from a field study on a Brazilian public policy towards women, trying to see conflicts of normativity present not only in the formulation and implementation of policy, but rather the appropriation and interpretation made from the audience of this public policy. / O movimento feminista pós-60, a despeito de suas distintas correntes, trouxe uma categoria central que mudaria de maneira indelével “as formas pelas quais as sociedades contemporâneas se pensam e se questionam” (SORJ, 2002, p. 99), a saber, o gênero. Gênero passou a informar tanto teorias sociais quanto políticas públicas, e é exatamente nesses dois âmbitos que o presente estudo vai se debruçar. No primeiro capítulo busca-se trabalhar o feminismo como crítica e reconstrução teórica, trazendo-se autoras da Teoria Crítica como Seyla Benhabib, Iris Young e Nancy Fraser.Verifica-se em cada uma: 1) o projeto de teoria crítica feminista e 2) o debate referente à dicotomia público/privado. Partindo dessa discussão, no segundo capítulo faz-se uma reconstrução da questão de gênero nas políticas públicas do Brasil, buscando-se ver os princípios normativos que orientam essas políticas. No terceiro capítulo, então, apresenta-se uma reflexão a partir de uma pesquisa de campo sobre o projeto Mulheres da Paz, investigando os conflitos de normatividade presentes não apenas na formulação e na implementação da política, mas sobretudo na apropriação e interpretação feitas pelas mulheres alvo dessa política.
