( Energy Studies) / In contrast to conventional energy sources, the advantage of renewable energy lies in the fact that it is virtually inexhaustible and that its utilisation is accompanied by minima environmental pollution. I t is, furthermore, very appropriate especially seen in the light of the large Third World component of the South African energy economy.
