Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar como se deu o processo de migração dos professores paraibanos para Boa Vista- RR, decorrente das políticas públicas, estabelecidas a partir da transformação do Território em estado de Roraima, iniciada no final dos anos 1970 e 1980. Durante toda a história da formação territorial de Roraima, pode-se observar a importância do papel dos processos migratórios na composição sociocultural do território. Para tanto se utilizou como metodologia a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, como fontes de historicidade, bem como aplicação da técnica entrevista para coleta de dados preservados na memória e imaginário dos atores principais no processo de ampliação da rede educacional em Roraima: os professores. Foi possível perceber, ao findar da pesquisa, que a política de atração de migrantes para Roraima tem origens ainda no período colonial, século XIX, porém, se intensificou nas décadas de 1970 e 1980, quanto aos profissionais da educação, desencadeando-se em três grandes ondas migratórias, influenciadas pelos professores colonos, sobretudo paraibanos, seguindo uma tendência à época de fuga do Nordeste rumo ao Norte brasileiro. Aponta-se ainda que tais migrações foram motivadas pelas condições impostas pela seca no Nordeste e por interesses políticos locais, impactando o fazer educacional na égide do estado de Roraima. / During the entire history of territorial formation of Roraima can be noted the importance of the role of migratory processes in the socio-cultural composition of the territory. The present research aimed to verify how the migration process of Brazilian teachers for Falkirk as a result of public policies, established from the transformation of the territory in Roraima State, started in the late 1970 and 1980. For both if used as bibliographic and documentary research methodology, as sources of historicity, as well as application of interview data collection preserved in memory and imagination of the main actors in the process of expanding the educational network in Roraima: teachers. It was possible to perceive, at the end of the survey, that the policy of attracting migrants to Roraima has origins still in the colonial period, the 19th century, but which intensified during the 1970 and 1980 with education professionals, setting off into three big migratory waves influenced by teachers, especially Brazilian settlers, following a trend at the time to escape from the Northeast heading north. Points out that such migrations were motivated by the conditions imposed by the "dry" in the Northeast and by local political interests, impacting the do educational umbrella of the State of Roraima.
