Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This work constitutes the study of transformations and dynamics of one of the most tradicional agrarian system of Rio Grande do Sul (RS): the livestock or beef cattle, developed in production units in the rural areas of Caçapava do Sul/RS city. Developed in small, medium and big properties, some of them familiar, this activity has a strong influence in the economic and political dynamic of the city. Thus, it's important to comprehend the evolution of this particular system, in an enviroment that the transformations of the agrarian panorama are occuring in an accelerated way, as a result of expansion of the explorer and capital accumulator capitalism system, highlighting, in this way, the expansion of soybean and eucalyptus cultivation, intensified during the last ten years. Thereby, it's fundamental, in this research, to know the ranchers's point of view about their production mode to the future, so, this way, it can be understood the significant sociospatial ongoing changes in the agrarian area of the city. The research is in dialectical method, in a methodology configurated in four steps, to embrace the research's proposed objectives: bibliographic revision; secondary data research; field research in the city; and results analysis, having as product this text elaboration. Thereby, this study intends, through the analysis of the dynamic of rural area, identify the responsible factors for the ongoing transformations in the rural area of Caçapava do Sul/RS, where used to predominate the traditional livestock systems of extensive type, with strong influence in the cultural and economic aspects, and where, currently, combine other dinamic activities as soy and forestry, with strong impacts over the landscape. / Este trabalho constitui-se no estudo das transformações e dinâmicas de um dos mais tradicionais sistemas agrários do Rio Grande do Sul (RS): a pecuária ou bovinocultura de corte, desenvolvida em unidades de produção no espaço rural do município de Caçapava do Sul/RS. Desenvolvida em pequenas, médias e grandes propriedades, algumas delas de característica familiar, essa atividade exerce forte influência na dinâmica econômica e política do município. Assim, torna-se importante entender a evolução desse sistema em particular, em um ambiente em que as transformações da paisagem agrária vêm ocorrendo de forma acelerada, em decorrência da expansão do sistema capitalista explorador e acumulador de capital, destacando-se, nesse sentido, a expansão das culturas de soja e de eucalipto mais intensamente nos últimos dez anos. Com isso, torna-se fundamental, nesta pesquisa, conhecer a visão dos pecuaristas sobre seu modo de produção para o futuro, pois, assim, pode-se entender as significativas mudanças socioespaciais em curso no espaço agrário do município. A pesquisa está ancorada no método dialético, em uma metodologia configurada em quatro etapas, de forma a abranger os objetivos propostos na pesquisa: revisão bibliográfica; pesquisa de dados secundários; pesquisa de campo no município; e análise dos resultados, tendo como produto a elaboração deste texto. Com isso, este estudo pretende, por meio da análise da dinâmica do espaço rural, identificar os fatores responsáveis pelas transformações em curso no espaço rural de Caçapava do Sul/RS, onde predominavam os sistemas pecuaristas tradicionais do tipo extensivo, com forte influência nos aspectos culturais e econômicos, e onde, atualmente, mesclam-se outras atividades dinâmicas, tais como a soja e a silvicultura, com fortes impactos sobre a paisagem.
