Bibliography: pages 128-141. / S. cerevisiae is widely used in industrial processes, in particular ethanol production. The aim of this study was to examine the feasability of cloning lignocellulase genes into yeast. These enzymes could possibly extend the substrate range of S. cerevisiae, thereby possibly making the process of ethanol production more cost effective.
