One of the leading issues in the literature of political economy is the disparity in 'quality of life' across states. This is an important issue for students of international relations for both theoretical and practical reasons. This dissertation was intended primarily to find out how domestic and international political and economic factors that influence quality of life might be synthesized in an explanatory model.
