El objetivo de esta tesis es analizar los diferentes Registros de Representación Semiótica,
formación, tratamientos y conversiones en la actividad matemática que se desarrolla en torno a
los límites de funciones en un curso universitario.
Para el análisis de la investigación, utilizamos como referente teórico la teoría de Registros de
Representación Semiótica (TRRS), en la que centramos nuestro estudio en los registros de
representación algebraico y gráfico para el límite de una función. En el registro algebraico,
analizamos límites de funciones con funciones polinomiales, funciones definidas a trozos,
funciones racionales y en el registro gráfico con funciones continuas y funciones discontinuas.
Todas ellas promueven diferentes actividades cognitivas, como la formación y tratamientos de
representaciones del límite de una función en el registro algebraico y gráfico al resolver una tarea
de límite de una función. También analizamos, desde la perspectiva de la TRRS, las actividades
cognitivas: formación, tratamientos y conversiones que se desarrolla en relación con el límite de
funciones en una práctica dirigida de Calculo I, en Estudios Generales área de Ciencias Básicas
de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). Los resultados que obtuvimos
evidencian que hay un predominio de preguntas en el registro algebraico. Se presentan
diferentes tipos de funciones algebraicas que promueven diversos tratamientos en el registro,
habiendo ausencia de la visualización del objeto, que es un aspecto del límite de una función que
lo muestra el registro gráfico. También podemos observar que hay ausencia de la actividad
cognitiva de la conversión. De acuerdo con la TRRS, es necesario conocer más de una
representación del objeto matemático, pues ellos se complementan, aumentan la capacidad
cognitiva y ayudan a la comprensión del concepto cuando se realiza una tarea de límites de una
función. La Investigación es de tipo cualitativo, realizamos un estudio de caso. / The aim of this thesis is to analyze the different registers of semiotic representation, formation,
treatments, and conversions in the mathematical sphere developed around the limits of functions
in a university course.
For the analysis of the research, we have taken as theoretical reference the Theory of
Registers of Semiotic Representation (TRSR) and centered our study in the registers of algebraic
representation and graph to the limit of a function.
In the algebraic register we analyze the limits of functions with polynomial functions, slice
functions, rational functions and graph register with continuous functions, discontinuous functions
with finite jump, and functions with movable discontinuity. All of them enhance different cognitive
activities as the formation and treatments of the limit of function representations in the algebraic
register and graph when solving a limit of a function task.
Likewise, we analyze the cognitive activities: formation, treatments and conversions from a
TRSR view regarding the limit of functions in a Calculus I guided activity, within the General
Studies Area of Basic Science at UNMSM. The results show that there is a prevalence of
questions in the algebraic register. Different types of algebraic functions appear to enhance
diverse treatments in the register with a lack of the object visualization which is an aspect of the
limit of a function indicated by the graph register. Also, we can notice that there is a lack of
cognitive activity of the conversion. In accordance with the TRSR, it is necessary to know more
than one representation of the mathematical object as they complement each other, increase the
cognitive capacity and help the understanding of the concept when the task of limits of a function
is performed. The research is qualitative, we conducted a case study.
