The paper stencil method of silk screen printing

The materials of this thesis are concerned with the stencil method of silk screen printing. They are intended for use by high school teachers. The research examines both the creative and technical aspects of printing designs and compositions on a large scale. Paper stencil variations are examined as applied to silk screen reproductions. These methods are discussed in relation to the art classroom. The descriptions of classroom processes are based on the application of the stencil method in Sunset High School, Beaverton, Oregon.
