Previous issue date: 2014-08-08 / FACEPE / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo interpretar se os elementos naturais e culturais que contribuíram para a formação do sitio geográfico de Igarassu, nos séculos XVI e XVII, mudaram e/ou permaneceram na paisagem entre os séculos XVIII e os dias atuais, a fim de contribuir com a conservação integrada da paisagem desse território. Isto será feito por meio da interpretação dos atributos desses elementos, com base em iconografias, relato de viajantes e depoimentos de grupos que vivenciam e observam esse território, assim como de especialistas e acadêmicos. Foi utilizado, também, como instrumento de leitura e interpretação dos elementos da paisagem, a cartografia social elaborada pelo grupo dos usuários. A escolha deste tema foi motivada pela vivência e observação neste sítio dos elementos que constituem o Patrimônio Cultural existente em Igarassu, e dos elementos naturais. Apesar de estar na interação desses elementos, a identidade do sítio de Igarassu, desde a origem da sua formação, foi reconhecido pelo IPHAN, em 1972, pelo seu conjunto arquitetônico e paisagístico, onde a paisagem é tratada como um panorama, e não como resultado da integração entre os elementos, natural e cultural, material e imaterial que constituem o cerne da paisagem. O entendimento de paisagem adotado neste trabalho é que ela é resultado da ação do homem sobre o meio ambiente, carregada de significados atribuídos por ele, representando um documento a ser lido e interpretado. Nesse sentido, foi construída uma narrativa tendo como eixo norteador a leitura, identificação e interpretação da paisagem do Sítio de Igarassu tendo como referência teórica a concepção de paisagem utilizada por alguns adeptos da Nova Geografia Cultural. / This paper aims to interpret whether the natural and cultural elements that contributed to the formation of the geographical location of Igarassu, in XVI and XVII centuries, had changed and or remained in the landscape between XVIII century end nowadays, in order to contribute with integrated conservation of this territory landscape. This will be done by the interpretation of this elements attributes based iconography, the traveler’s report and the testimony of groups who experience and observe this territory and experts. Was also used a reading instrument and interpretation of landscape elements, the social cartography created by the users. This themes choice was motivated by the experience and observation of elements that are cultural heritage in Igarassu, and the natural elements. Despite integrate these elements, the identity of the site Igarassu, from its origins, was recognized by IPHAN in 1972, by architectural and landscaped, where the landscape is treated as a panorama, instead of results of integration between elements, natural and cultural, material and immaterial that constitute the core of the landscape. The meaning of landscape adopted in this paper is that landscape is a result of man’s action on the environment, loaded of meanings assigned by himself, representing a document to be read and interpreted. Accordingly, a narrative was constructed focused in reading, identification and interpretation of Igarassu site landscape, with theorical framework on the landscape conception used by some followers of new cultural geography.
