Dessa forma, habitar ? a express?o do pr?prio ser-e-estar-no-mundo. / Thinking about living is something that refers to the idea of housing. However, for Heidegger's existential phenomenology, dwelling refers to the mode of being that constitutes man and that is revealed through familiarity and estrangement with the world. In this way, dwelling is the expression of being-and-being-in-the-world. Street people make up a heterogeneous population group that has in common extreme poverty, fragile or broken family ties and the lack of regular conventional housing. Surveys of phenomenological and existential orientation are directed towards the experience, considering that this perspective emphasizes the existential dimension of human living and the meanings experienced by the subject in his being-in-the-world. The general objective of this study was to understand what senses street people attribute to their experience of living on the streets. This is a phenomenological-existential research in which two people were interviewed in a street situation: a 42-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman. The interviews took place on the streets and were interpreted in the light of Heideggerian hermeneutics. The analysis of the narratives revealed that, at the same time that the street is a place of insecurity, inhospitality and vulnerability, it welcomes those who decide to live there, either by choice, lack of it, to avoid a situation of suffering and violence or For any other reason. The relationships of people with others and with the space in which they live exert influence at the time of the decision to make the street a place of existence. The narratives of the participants report cases of physical, psychological, sexual and police violence. Also of discrimination and violation of human rights. On street survival strategies, these are diversified and used according to the availability of resources and the provision of some services.
