The incidence rate of chronic hepatopathy in Taiwan is high, which afflicts the patients by progressively developing irreversible cirrhosis. Hepatic fibrosis is the intermediate and crucial stage of this process, characterized by reversibility. If treated properly in this stage, cirrhosis can be successfully prevented.
