Previous issue date: 2016-03-16 / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo compreender os sentidos de migração compartilhados por jovens que migraram para estudar no interior do estado de Pernambuco. À luz da Teoria das Representações Sociais, intentou-se destacar as motivações de jovens advindos das zonas rurais e urbana, e analisar os reflexos psicossociais e formativos na identidade. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, que teve como procedimentos metodológicos: a) questionário socioeconômico e cultural, para levantar o perfil destes ingressantes; b) Questionário de Associação Livre (QAL); e c) entrevista semiestruturada com jovens de 18 a 25 anos que migraram com o objetivo de cursar uma graduação em instituições de ensino superior localizadas na mesorregião do Agreste de Pernambuco. A análise dos dados foi apoiada pela Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin e pelo software EVOC. Os achados apontam para o fenômeno da migração representado pela mudança, adaptação, dificuldade e oportunidade, sendo nesse contexto, mobilizadora de adaptações e construções identitárias que solicitam ao jovem universitário posicionamentos “do mundo adulto”. A migração surge como contingência para estudar, uma vez que a universidade no interior se mostra como oportunidade para se alcançar conhecimentos necessários para mobilidade social, e a escolha do curso foi motivada pela comodidade e disponibilidade de oferta. A necessidade de realizar o curso que estava disponível, pela proximidade da instituição com a localidade de origem, surge como possibilidade de realizar um sonho de ter um curso superior. Assim, a escolha profissional fica submetida às possibilidades que são ofertadas nos cursos superiores que foram interiorizados pelas políticas públicas de expansão e democratização da educação superior, sendo a migração o resultado da tarefa de uma limitada análise entre oportunidade local, tanto educativa como ocupacional, e a condição econômica dos estudantes. / This research aims to understand the meanings of migration shared by young people who have migrated to study in interior of the state of Pernambuco. Taking into account the Theory of Social Representations, we identified the motivations of young people coming from rural and urban areas, and analyzed the corresponding psychosocial and formative influences on their identities. A qualitative research was carried out with the following methodological procedures: a) socio-economic-cultural questionnaire, to examine the profile of these individuals; b) Free Association Questionnaire (QAL); and c) semi-structured interviews with young people (18 to 25 yrs) who migrated in order to attend an undergraduate program in institutions located in the rugged region of the state of Pernambuco. Data analysis was supported by Bardin Content Analysis and the EVOC software. The findings point out to the phenomenon of migration represented by the change, adaptation, difficulty and opportunity, and in this context, mobilizing adaptations and identity constructions that require that the young undergrad student "adult world" aptitude. Migration emerges as contingency to study, since the interior universities campus represents an opportunity to achieve necessary knowledge for social mobility, and the choice of course was motivated by convenience and availability. The need of attending available courses and the proximity of the institution to the locality arise as a possibility to realize a dream of having a higher education. Thus, the professional choice is submitted to the possibilities that are offered in the undergraduate courses that have been chosen to be offered in the interior of the state by public policies of expansion and democratization of higher education. Therefore, migration results from of the limited local opportunities, both educational and occupational, and the economic condition of the students.
