<p>Avsikten med följande studie var att undersöka om och hur hemtjänstberoende äldre uppfattade att deras hem blir en arbetsplats för hemtjänstpersonalen samt om uppfattningen såg olika ut beroende på om den äldre är en man eller kvinna. Även om typen av hemtjänstinsatser har betydelse för uppfattningen studerades.</p><p>Vi valde att göra en kvalitativ undersökning för att fånga uppfattningarna och få en helhet i studien. Vi har gjort sex intervjuer, varav tre var kvinnor och tre var män. Resultatet bygger på dessa intervjuer som vi har sammanställt och analyserat.</p><p>Resultatet från studien visar att äldre inte uppfattar sitt hem som en arbetsplats. De anser att det fortsatt är deras hem och att personalens närvaro inte påverkat uppfattningen av hemmet. Det framkom att uppfattningen beror på olika faktorer som ett rikt socialt nätverk, att de har kvar vissa sysslor som de klarar själva samt att personalen visar hänsyn och respekt för den äldre och dennes hem. En annan viktig faktor är att de äldre har anpassat sig efter personalens rutiner. Det finns skillnader i uppfattningen av hemmet utifrån kön och typen av insatser. Kvinnorna, som även är de med störst omsorgsbehov, uppfattade indirekt hemmet som arbetsplats då de kan känna ett visst intrång i deras privata sfär.</p> / <p>The intension with the following study was to investigate if and how elderly people who depend on home help understand that their home becomes a work place for the personnel and if the understanding varies between men and women. In addition, it was also investigated if the type of home help had any impact on the understanding.</p><p>We chose to do a qualitative investigation to capture the understandings and get a complete picture in the study. We have done six interviews, with three women and three men. The result is based on these interviews that we have put together and analyzed.</p><p>The result from the study shows that elderly people do not understand their home to be a work place at all. They believe that it is still their home and that the presence of the personnel has not affected their experience of their home. It has been shown that this understanding depends on different factors such as a rich social network, that they have certain tasks that they can still do on their own and that the personnel shows consideration and respect for the elderly person and his or her home. Another important factor is that the elderly people have adjusted to the routines of the personnel. There are differences in the understanding of the home between gender and the type of help that the elderly have. The women who also have the biggest need of help understand indirect their home to be a work place. They feel some kind of infringement in their private area.</p>
