The purpose of this thesis project was to write a grant proposal to secure funding for a yoga therapy program, Yogi Paws Therapy, for young adults struggling with mental disorders at the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance’s (OCAPICA) Well(ness)essity Mental Health Department in California. A literature review was conducted to examine topics related to mental disorders among young adults including prevalence, risk factors, co-morbidity, and consequences. The purpose of the proposed program was to provide yoga therapy and reduce their depressive and/or anxiety symptoms and improve their perceived well-being. The Weingart Foundation was selected for the proposed grant funding. The actual submission or funding of this grant proposal was not a requirement for the successful completion of the project.
