Previous issue date: 2010-09-30 / This study originated from the research entitled Estudo do sistema socioeducacional
para adolescentes autores de atos infracionais no estado de Goiás, coordinated and
financially supported by Secretaria Especial Direitos Humanos da Presidência da
República (SEDH/PR). Based on the empirical material interviews with adolescents
who committed infractions, their family members, and participants in the system of
guaranteeing child s and adolescent s rights , the interviews with the adolescents
mothers were privileged due to the importance of the emotional care continuity that
this family figure represents to their sons. In the social-historical perspective, the
process of signification is essential to human development and is defined as the
dialectical process, marked by qualitatively different phases, determined by the
activity mediated by language. To these mothers, serving the time of the socialeducational
measure of detention is a hard situation though relevant for their sons
lives. Maternal participation in the units of social-educational measure is restricted to
their visits to the sons, which evidences the lack of public policies aiming at inserting
the family in the social-educational context and facilitating the socialization in families
of popular classes. In the mothers perspective, the reasons to commit the infractions
are related to the transformations of their sons because of financial and relational
difficulties with the family imposed to the contemporary adolescents. According to the
mothers, as their sons serve the time of the social-educational measure of detention,
good changes take place in their family relationships, despite the inevitable
temporary separation, both physical and emotional, between them. Simultaneously
with these good changes, the mothers nurture hope in the expectation that their sons
will have a future which is different from the reality they live. / Este estudo originou-se de um recorte da pesquisa intitulada Estudo do sistema
socioeducacional para adolescentes autores de atos infracionais no estado de
Goiás, coordenada e financiada pela Secretaria Especial Direitos Humanos da
Presidência da República (SEDH/PR). A partir do material empírico entrevistas
com os adolescentes, familiares e atores do sistema de garantia de direitos , deuse
prioridade às entrevistas realizadas com as mães dos adolescentes atendidos,
pela importância da continuidade dos cuidados afetivos que esta figura familiar
possui em relação aos seus filhos. Na perspectiva sócio-histórica, o processo de
significação é essencial ao desenvolvimento humano, sendo este definido como
processo dialético, marcado por etapas qualitativamente diferentes, determinadas
pela atividade mediada pela linguagem. Para essas mães, o cumprimento da medida
socioeducativa de privação de liberdade de seus filhos é uma condição difícil e, ao
mesmo tempo, relevante para as vidas destes. A participação materna nas unidades
de medida socioeducativa se restringe às visitas aos filhos, evidenciando a falta de
políticas públicas que insiram a família no contexto socioeducacional e facilitem a
socialização nas famílias de classes populares. Na perspectiva das mães, os
motivos para cometimento das infrações se referem às transformações dos filhos
diante das dificuldades financeiras e relacionais com a família impostas aos
adolescentes contemporâneos. De acordo com as mães, por meio do cumprimento
da medida, ocorrem boas mudanças nas relações familiares dos adolescentes,
apesar do inevitável afastamento temporário, físico e emocional, entre eles.
Paralelamente às boas mudança, as mães criam expectativas de que seus filhos
terão um futuro diferente da realidade que elas têm.
