The purpose of this essay is to investigate if Botkyrka municipalitys policy Strategi för ett interkulturellt Botkyrka (Strategy for an intercultural Botkyrka), reproduce a previously discovered discourse about swedishness, etnicity and culture as something static and one-dimensional. How they tackle the challenge to n’either homogenise nor culturaly essentialise their citizens. This is examined with the use of a social constructivist approach on the strategy. By using this approach and with the frameworks from discourse analysis and governmentality, this study shows that despite rethinking in goals and course of action, the examined material follows the previously demonstrated discourse, through their use and articulation of the investigated concepts. / Denna uppsats har till syfte att undersöka om Botkyrka kommuns styrningsdokument Strategi för ett interkulturellt Botkyrka, reproducerar en tidigare funnen diskurs kring svenskhet, etnicitet och kultur som något statiskt och endimensionellt. Hur de hanterar utmaningen att varken homogenisera eller kulturellt essentialisera deras invånare. Detta undersöks genom användningen av en socialkonstruktivistisk ansats av strategin. Med hjälp av denna ansats och teoretiskt ramverk från diskursanalys och governmentalitet visar studien att trots nytänkade kring mål och tillvägagångssätt, följer den tidigare demonstrerade diskursen även i denna strategi genom artikulering och användning av de undersökta begreppen.
