Previous issue date: 2006 / The object ot study in the present dissertation is the individual’s reality in prison giving emphasis on the possible aspects of violence and psychic suffering inserted through the individual’s speech. Based on a psychodinimic referencial, it was sought in comprehending some of the psychological factors related to violent behavior without disconsidering other important aspects such as social and biological factors in understanding the theme. There is also a brief bibliographical review regarding the Imprisonment Institution and its multiple forms of violence which reinforce the characteristics formerly referred. Ten convicted men, deprived of their freedom in a “semi-open regime” prison establishment were selected to be interviewed. The data obtained was analysed through a broaden theoretical reference for an initial approximation. The results obtained confirm the hypothesis that the subject who commits a felony, manifests violence through the illicit act, reedits and experiences, under imprisonment, so many other forms of violence and psychic suffering. Therefor, puts into jeopardy the myth of re-socialization through private penalty of freedom. / Na presente dissertação, teve-se como objeto de estudo a realidade do indivíduo na prisão, dando ênfase aos possíveis aspectos de violência e sofrimento psíquico, inseridos no discurso do apenado. Por meio de um referencial psicodinâmico, buscou-se conhecer alguns dos fatores psicológicos vinculados ao comportamento violento, sem, contudo, desconsiderar outros aspectos importantes para o entendimento do tema, como os sociais e os biológicos. Fez-se, também, uma breve revisão bibliográfica a respeito da Instituição Prisional, com suas múltiplas formas de violência, que acabam por reforçar as características anteriormente referidas. Foram realizadas dez entrevistas, com detentos que cumpriam pena privativa de liberdade num estabelecimento carcerário de regime semi-aberto. Estas entrevistas foram interpretadas à luz de um referencial teórico psicanalítico, para uma aproximação inicial. Os dados obtidos confirmam a hipótese de que o sujeito que comete um delito manifesta a violência no ato ilícito, reedita e vivencia, na execução criminal, tantas outras formas de violência e sofrimento psíquico. Coloca em questão, assim, o mito da ressocialização, por meio da privação da liberdade.
