Muslim learners’ religion expression through attire in culturally diverse public schools in South Africa: A cul-de-sac?

Photographs of Iraqi prisoners’ abuse by American
soldiers sent shockwaves throughout the world during
the Iraq War (Wikipedia, 2003). This again raised the
question of human rights and how these rights are
balanced in diverse societies. This article intends to
focus on the relationship between human rights and
religious requirements in the day-to-day functioning of
public schools.
