Previous issue date: 2010-09-01 / Fundo Mackenzie de Pesquisa / The history of social rights in Brazil is linked to itself with the development of citizenship.The achievement of some of the guarantees in terms of positive these rights requires greater understanding of the labor organization in the country in the fight for better conditions of life and work. In this sense, unions related to the process of expanding the protection and realization of social rights, in particular the protection of workers and participate in these boards and other public spaces. Thus, this paper aims at analyzing the social and political factors that have contributed to the formal recognition of the Unions in the Brazilian legal system, although the understanding of issues such as citizenship, freedom of association and human rights are required. / A história dos direitos sociais no Brasil vincula-se com o próprio desenvolvimento da cidadania. A conquista de algumas das garantias em termos de positivação destes direitos pressupõe uma maior compreensão acerca da organização operária no país na luta por melhores condições de vida e de trabalho. Neste sentido, as Centrais Sindicais se relacionam com o processo de ampliação da tutela e efetivação dos direitos sociais, em especial as de proteção aos trabalhadores e de participação destes em colegiados e demais espaços públicos.Assim, a presente dissertação tem por escopo a análise dos fatores sociais e políticos que contribuíram com o formal reconhecimento das Centrais Sindicais no ordenamento jurídico brasileiro, embora a compreensão de temas como cidadania, liberdade sindical e direitos humanos frente ao processo de integração regional se façam necessários.
